In Reply to Sarah K’s comment on a prior post: (If you will ever read my blog again given your misconceptions of my nature): Please don’t call me Ben. I prefer Benjamin or Appleman1234 or Apple if you are lazy. I vehemently hate Ben, I hate the human trait of laziness over respect, that it symbolises, etc. As to distraction to education: You really couldn’t distract me from 005 as I have had prior exposure to the majority of the subject matter. I am very determined as you noticed. The lost pen lid was irritating if and only if, the fact that I couldn’t find it and had to move […]

Hey everyone, I have had an interesting weekend. Monodevelop nows works to a T. (Including code generation and GTK# gui designer) 🙂 All I need now is for VS 2005 to be backwards comptiable and I would be cruising. I am just starting to learn System.Windows.Forms development in C# in Monodevelop, so far my GUI application named guifun works. I am going (was supposed on the weekend but got delayed and sidetracked) to write a C# application to do some basic linear algebra for MAB220 (Gaussian elimination, Matrix multiplication, Doolittle and Crout, etc) . I went to a extended family member’s birthday, dressed in character (theme was Hollywood, I was Richard […]

Hey everyone, Uni Just finished really busy midsemster exam / assessment period. I didn’t do as well as I wanted in MAB220 (Numerical Analysis) exam, due to lack of study / practice and lack of time. I will make up for it in the final exam though. The ITB005 (Systems Arch. ) exam was easier and more fun. The other assessment in assignment form has also kept me busy. I enjoy OO (OpenOffice) Math, aside from me bothering to learn Latex, it is the best solution for the insertion of mathematic syntax and symbols. I don’t enjoy Visual Studio, (Stupid irritating MS IDE), ITB003 (OOP Programming) lecturer said I would […]

Hey everyone, I am have been very busy lately with numerous time consuming things. I have been spending way too much @ Websinthe Forums. My midsemester exams are coming up soon, and will have to study hard for them. Subject Update: ITB005: Going good, lectures aren’t boring despite the fact, I have prior exposure to most of the subject material. Linux labs are easy and fun. The only thing that is irritating were the people sitting next to us (Mirza, Chris S and I) in ITB005 lecture, between not STFU and losing pen lids, it was a PITA. I will have go through tutorial questions again though. ITB002: Going great. […]

Hey everyone, It seems my last post was too soon. 🙂 I am now in the process of recompiling every useful application so that it will find libexpat 2, which has had a recent ABI change. It is things like this, that prove that the perserverance and patience I have actually has a use. Lucky for me, I am using a dirty symlink hack (ln -s newlib oldlib) to allow my computer to function, well enough until revdep-rebuild finishes. On the upside my sound works on startup as I found out in my C HASH (This is my campaign to get it reknown as C HASH) lecture, when the KDE […]

Hey everyone, Gentoo and Sabayon (instant Gentoo) are awesome. I downgraded my WINE and now WinMX works (well still having connection issues.) I am currently back on LMM (linuxmoviemania.com)(Using RoboMX) The more I use WINE, the more I want nvidia to hurry up with their new drivers (the ones that support xorg7.1). I could just downgrade but where is the fun in that. Overlays in Gentoo are great. (Using local overlay with knetworkmanager, networkmanager, java 1.5 32bit (stupid ELP), and mplayerplug-in-bin). Because of this, I have discovered the magic and wonder of video.google.com and youtube. I also have been getting CD Covers for my music in Amarok, Amarok is brilliant. […]

Hey everyone, I went to a LAN Party (uberfest) hosted by Curtis Bayne on weekend before I went back to university. The experience was an utter disappointment with numerous things turning out wrong. These included taking and hour and a half to find the location of the place on foot Cheater not showing up (because he couldn’t find the place in car) My Gentoo not having a Direct Connect client prior to the LAN A feature in 2.6.17 messing with WINE (easy fix, once I had net @ home) The LAN didn’t have net Nexuiz or Wesnoth wasn’t played and the general conduct of the other lan guests was deplorable […]

Hey everyone, I am no longer full of sorrow. I apologise for not blogging sooner but whenever I tried I got interupted. Going Places I have been very busy traveling I went out to Tara (out past Dalby, which is out past Toowoomba), to visit an old friend of mine. After spending approximately 2 days with him and 1 to 2 more with his family (Whose hospitality and kindness were greatly appreciated) , I have decided to aptly label him the Tara Gangster without a Gang. Whilst in Tara, I met several people, watched Hostel (stupid / terrible movie, gore scenes not gory, scare scenes not scary, sex scenes not […]

Hi Everyone, I am not in an average or happy state like my previous posts. I am currently depressed with some stuff. I will get over it eventually but hey, that is life. I am that depressed, I begin to wonder about suicide and then realise my previous promise to myself and find the will power and resolve in the back of my mind. (It is the big golden box.) I am very lucky to have this willpower and resolve, others without it have killed themselves or attempted to many times before. I have helped counsel some people out of suicide using it. As my birth was so miraculous (I […]

Hi everyone, The time to relax is nice if I could get any, I am busy remembering at the things I need to do ;). Amongst everything that has occured so far, in a brieft list of summary is shown below: Returned in a much more concise way to Place of Much Chocolate Gorging (now on known as PMCG), on Roman corner. However the journey was spoilt be having to put up with the constant replaying of tape recorded insults. Met with family friends at PMCG Watched as friends and family enjoyed chocolate buffet (Which I don’t eat, as I don’t have caffiene), I also ordered nothing :), went home. […]
